Intrigued by which of my projects appear when you enter my name in Google, I flicked through the various web pages, and came across something I had never seen before. A rather surprising and scathing attack from someone on the other side of the world. Someone well-reknowned in the world of dating. Evan Marc Katz is an American dating coach. These days he gives advice specifically to women. Interestingly, his name came up in a brainstorm I was doing earlier this week for my new job role. As with everything I write about dating, it was simply an opinion, and I tried to be as non-patronising as possible. I know how my writing is generally received, particularly by other people who work in the dating industry.
Epistle To Evan Marc Katz
Genuine trust is stronger than any passing stranger. Evan Marc Katz Topic: Can it even benefit a relationship?
Are you a woman who has seen this up close? Your thoughts, below, are appreciated. This objectification of women feeds a culture that manifests as rape. Strip clubs provide an arena for their continued victimization. Suggesting that these clubs are frivolous fun negates the reality that they provide endless opportunities for men to emotionally and physically traumatize women — directly or indirectly.
So, Evan, instead of telling women strip clubs are just men being men, you can help eradicate rape culture by taking an unequivocal stance against them. To my follow up comment? You got me to engage against my will. Will you validate any of mine?

Exploring the path of conscious dating and partnerships. Basically, men like a challenge — to pursue you, to win you over, to charm you, to work our way around the bases and accomplish what few men have accomplished before. The thrill of the chase is gone.
Poor Evan Marc Katz. Everybody’s hypersensitive, and he’s feeling, well, sensitive about it. Because even though all of them have socially liberal worldviews, they either made jokes or spoke their minds — much to the chagrin of their critics. And that’s because Sam Harris is a bona fide asshole and kind of an idiot too, as I’ve discussed many times on this blog. If liberals object to Sam Harris speaking his mind, it’s because Sam Harris so often supports right-wing views: Both Katz and Sam Harris have convinced a fairly large number of dullards that they are really bright guys.
The following was an open letter I wrote to EMK , after a series of articles was published about him and his work on my blog Just Four Guys last summer. I welcome any and all comments in response. For mere mortals like us, persistence pays. The first thing I want to say is that I am deeply offended by your handling of me and more importantly, my website.
My old Just 4 Guys J4G web site has gone out of its way to take your concerns seriously, addressing them many times.
Here is a comment by someone named Raymond from a recent thread on Evan Katz’s blog: Most of us hardly ever think about our negative points and the effect on others. Being aware of our own negative traits would be very beneficial to our relationships in general.

And once you figure it out, does that have to mean the end of the relationship? Or can you date a player, maybe even lasso that sucker, tag him and claim him for your very own? But players of different sexes are of vastly different varieties so here, just to narrow the field, we are going to focus on the male player and what, if anything, to do with him. So, Where to Start? First off is the question of determining whether he is or is not a player. Just what is a player anyway?
A player, according to the good people at dictionary. He just cares about a good time and getting into as many pants as possible. First, the signs of a player are not as obvious as one might like to think. Signs he might be a player include but are not limited to:
He talks exactly the kind of horse-sense that I dig, so I hope you find this useful. The common denominator is that this man, who took your breath away and gave you hope, ultimately left you. I know how it feels. This can be devastating. It can make you mistrustful. It can make you lose faith.
So I got sucked into another post on Evan Marc Katz’s site: this time, the question was from a woman (“Sally”) who’d been seeing a guy (“Harry”) for 3 weeks, and they’d been out on 2 dates and had one kiss. Then, Harry didn’t call Sally for 5 days. Sally got offended and froze Harry out. After that, Harry would text Sally from time to time.
Your key slides into the lock, and you turn it to let yourself in. Evan Marc Katz provides a male perspective when coaching women on dating. For the intelligent and independent woman seeking a man of equal stature to stand by her, Evan Marc Katz has some advice — be the CEO of your love life. Being the CEO of your own love life results in a lack of anxiety that makes the entire dating process much more pleasurable. Fourteen years of coaching women means Evan has shattered a lot of myths, including the commonly accepted notion that most relationships are hard work.
He has seen it firsthand in his own life when, after or so dates, he found his wife, a woman he describes as his North Star, and it was a completely different relationship than what he had previously experienced. After hundreds of dates and multiple tweaks to his own approach to online dating, Evan felt he could provide real help to JDate users.
On call after call, Evan realized the problems people were experiencing were not always what they seemed. A call to customer service for a forgotten password indicated to Evan a larger issue of the caller not using the site regularly enough to be an effective dater. A few years into e-Cyrano, Evan expanded his services to accommodate their needs in the form of date coaching.
